## Plazo para la inscripcion de Pasantias prácticas de otoño vence el lunes

Si usted está interesado en ser un pasante en la Free Software Foundation para el otoño, desde el 31 de agosto al 4 de diciembre, es el momento para enviar tu solicitud! Hemos ampliado el plazo de unos días, pero por favor asegúrese de que recibamos su solicitud este lunes, 20 de julio.

## ¿Por qué el software libre no debe depender de Mono y C #?

La decisión de Debian de incluir Mono en su principal ambiente de instalacion, GNOME, para incluir Tomboy, que es una aplicación escrita en C #, conduce a la comunidad en una dirección de riesgo. Es peligroso depender de C #, por lo que necesitamos desalentar su uso. El problema no es exclusivo de Mono; cualquier implementación libre de C # podria plantear la misma cuestión.

## El comienzo de mi pasantía en la FSF

Soy uno de los pasantes mas recientes de la Free Software Foundation, lo que es un poco sorprendente, porque hace menos de un año, yo ni siquiera sabía lo que era un sistema operativo. Si bien estoy haciendo mi psantia aquí, espero ayudarme a mi mismo y a otros más, para informarles lo que es el software libre. Tengo la esperanza de ver la introduccion del el software libre como algo que es muy accesible, fácil de usar, y lo más importante, como algo que no restringe las libertades de los usuarios.

## El desafío del cambio

Estoy muy emocionado de anunciar que voy a ser pasante con la Free Software Foundation este verano. Curso el tercer año de la secundaria, la FSF me ha asignado un proyecto por un largo tiempo: averiguar una forma de conseguir la participación de los jóvenes en el software libre.

## Why free software shouldn't depend on Mono or C#?
Debian’s decision to include Mono in its principal way of installing GNOME, for the sake of Tomboy, which is an application written in C#, leads the community in a risky direction. It is dangerous to depend on C#, so we need to discourage its use. The problem is not unique to Mono; any free implementation of C# would raise the same issue.

## Starting my internship at the FSF
I am one of the Free Software Foundation’s newest interns, which is a little surprising because less than a year ago, I didn’t even know what an operating system was. While interning here, I hope to help myself and others become more educated about free software. I also hope to introduce free software as something that is very accessible, easy to use, and most importantly, as something that does not restrict users’ freedoms.
